According to Lil’ Flip, the game was over when he first stepped into the limelight and at that time he was right. He has single-handedly created an empire of underground hits and has assimilated into the crossover market with the success of “Game Over” and “Sunshine” from U Gotta Feel Me (2004). Now he’s back to make sure you don’t forget with his third effort appropriately titled I Need Mine (Asylum Records/Warner Bros.). A two-disc sonic fusion of street grit with mainstream appeal, I Need Mine gives off that H-town city syrupy slow, crunk-rich vibe that Flip’s known for. “I’ve got records for the ladies. I’ve got street records. I’ve got club records. I’m really proud of the album because I’m bringing everything I’ve got and I guarantee that the fans won’t be disappointed!” With tracks like “Flippin” feat. Mya, “White Cup” feat. Mike Jones, and “I’m A Baller [Flip My Chips]” it looks like the freestyle king has captivated us with his lucky charms once again.
